If you ask someone to write a letter of recommendation for you, it is important to consider someone who knows you well and who can give the committee additional information about the professional and personal qualities and traits you possess, attest to your academic abilities beyond your grade or test score, and consider your potential for success in law school. The stronger your relationship with the recommender, the more he or she can give the committee insight into who you are. Don`t be afraid to ask your referee to focus on your strengths, your passion for law school, or anything else you feel is important so that the committee needs to know and can`t see into other sections of your application.
