Legal Mods in Wot
I`ve never tried mods until I was curious about which ones there are, what they do, and which ones are you allowed to use? Well, there are a lot of legal mods out there. Some are good, some are funny and some are just plain bad. Banned mods are those that give players an unfair advantage over others. These changes will be added to the list of prohibited software, and players caught doing so will be penalized. The list includes: We constantly study your feedback to keep up with the most discussed topics within the community, one of which is changes or mods. One of your biggest concerns is fair play and the use of so-called “cheat mods”. These unauthorized third-party modifications give those who use them an unfair advantage and spoil the fun of battles. Unfortunately, this is a bitter topic throughout the gaming industry, as mods, including the unfair ones, are constantly evolving alongside the industry itself. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to this problem, but our specialists are always looking for ways to ensure fairness. Why on earth is it legal on one server and illegal on another? WGNA.
The fact that it changes your playstyle, tactical and strategic thinking during a game based on it AND that it is not available to you without using a mod in any form during a game should be illegal. It violates WG`s own fair use policy and violates the spirit of the game format. This information in itself is not terrible. What it does, however, is change a player`s active participation and strategy in the game based on knowing something you can`t know when playing against your opponents. From this point of view, it should be illegal to have it. I`m by no means a purist, but as an athlete, I consider this kind of information to be “game-changing” and “unsportsmanlike” in the sense of the game as a random series of games against your opponents and with your teammates. I loved this mod until WG said it was illegal. As seen here, among the mods prohibited for the NA server, in section 3 of the minimap, there are parts of a minimap modification that are prohibited, including the direction in which the enemy tower points.
Of course, it could be different for SEA, but I would play it safe and say it`s probably not allowed and not using it. This mod is 100% illegal on the NA server. This is probably illegal on the EU server. It`s probably legal on the UK server. This is definitely legal on SEA and CH servers as they have no restrictions. Garage mods are the best, there are good crosshair mods, aslains has a number of mods for your viewing pleasure, all lawyers can use whatever they want and will never be discovered. It`s SUPER stupid to stream with them, because that`s how you`ll end up banned. For beginners, I`d worry about not using mods or focusing on things that make the garage and interface more enjoyable. XVM is probably the one I wouldn`t suggest. Click on the link for a great guide on how to manage mods via our own SiberianExpress The root directory of WoT games has a special subfolder called res_mods.
In this folder, mods are installed in a subdirectory called res_mods/0.X.Y, where 0.X.Y is the latest version number of the WoT patch. Therefore, the name of the active mod directory changes with each WoT version patch. Usually, each mod needs to be updated and modified to make it compatible with the latest patch. Installation instructions for the res_mods/0.X.Y are usually included as a readme file .txt with each mod or are presented on the download page. Uninstalling the mod is as simple as removing the associated files from res_mods/0.X.Y and all applicable subdirectories. Backing up the res_mod directory before and after a successful installation is always a good idea. Personally, I think any use of XVM for statistics should be illegal. In fact, according to WG`s own fair use policy for mods, they should be. It says, and I paraphrase, “Any mod that provides the player with information that cannot be obtained during the game is unfair and represents an unfair advantage and is therefore illegal.” A list of blocked mods for the NA server can be found in the forums. The other servers do not have a list yet. Installers are not a shared apartment product and should be used at your own risk! Installing multiple mods at the same time can cause conflicts that can take a long time to resolve. Relhax Modpack is the best at the moment as all mods are tested and you don`t need to download everything every time there is a mod update.
The mods I use are mostly aesthetic and QoL mods, like changing car gear, and the one that codes the colors of tank lists in the game differently depending on the class (Red is heavy tank, yellow is medicine, Green is a light tank, I think blue is a TD and purple is artistic? I may not remember), but it`s mostly a personal preference. saw this last week as part of Aslain`s mod pack, and he says it`s illegal on the NA server, but made a patch a day or two later saying it causes bugs on WoT Wasn`t that one of the most important things Sela and others used when he was banned for it? As others have said, certainly illegal. If you are from SEA server, there are no illegal mods The World of Tanks mods hub is the perfect place to find the latest and greatest mods. The simple and straightforward interface allows for quick navigation, while the submission requirements ensure that the mods you want to install are good to use. You can also submit your developments at any time to ensure they comply with our fair play guidelines. Expansions that pass control will be unveiled on the Mod Hub, where tankers can discover and download other players` creations without having to worry about policy violations. Quick question. I was watching a WOT feed last night when I noticed that this user`s minimap had a pretty interesting mod and wanted to know if it was legal.
