31 Poker Rules
After a player loses a life, the deck must be revamped and the game must start again. According to the traditional rules of the 31 card games, each player has 3 lives. Since the game aims to score 31 points, you just need to know the values of the cards. 31 is a fun card game where players run for the hand with the highest score. To play the game, you need a standard deck of cards and 3 tiles, such as poker chips, for each player. The game starts with players cutting for the deal. The one with the lowest bid card first. The dealer deals each player 3 cards face down, then 3 open cards in the middle for the “window”.
The player to the left of the dealer goes first. When it is a player`s turn, he can exchange a card from his hand with one of the cards in the window. The game continues clockwise until a player thinks that his hand can beat all the hands of other players. Aces are worth 11 points, face cards are worth 10 points, and the rest of the cards are worth their face value. Only cards of the same color can be added. For example, if a player has a diamond ace, a diamond king and a 3 of hearts, he has 21 points. When a player thinks he has the best hand, he knocks on the table when it`s his turn. Then the rest of the players get another move.
Everyone reveals their cards and the player with the lowest score loses one of their tiles. If a player has 31 points at any time during the game, he can hit immediately and all other players lose a life. When a player loses his whole life, he is out of the game. On the website Cribbage.ca there is a description of a French-Canadian version of 31, in which the player with the highest score receives a point after a player hits and it was everyone`s turn. If there is a draw, the player who did not hit the wins. Presumably, if there is a draw between two players, neither of whom has struck, they get one point each. A player who makes 31 explains it and immediately scores a point. The game apparently continues until someone reaches a score of 31 – a long game.
